Three-day event, attended by 8,997 people from the industry

Gyeonggi Province announced on the 5th that it successfully completed the '2023 Next Generation Semiconductor Packaging Equipment and Materials Industry Exhibition' co-hosted by Suwon City.
At the 2023 Next-Generation Semiconductor Packaging Equipment and Materials Industry Show (ASPS) held at the Suwon Convention Center from August 30 to September 1, 91 companies and institutions, including Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix, ASMPT, Protech, Sungkyunkwan University, Ajou University, and Pyeongtaek University, participated. 276 booths participated and displayed semiconductor packaging test and assembly equipment.
The provinces, Suwon City, Bucheon City, and Pyeongtaek City also promoted each local government's semiconductor-related policies and showcased the companies' excellent products and technologies.
During the event, 8,997 people, including people from the semiconductor packaging equipment and materials industry, visited.
In particular, executives and employees of companies such as Samsung Electronics and Hana Micron visited the exhibition hall as a group to observe, and employees of major OSAT (semiconductor packaging outsourcing) companies also visited the industrial exhibition and showed deep interest in the latest trends in new technologies and products.

The satisfaction level of companies and organizations that operated booths at the industrial exhibition was also high. More than half of the 91 companies and institutions, 48 (53%), expressed their intention to participate in next year's industrial exhibition. An official from one participating company said, “It seems to be effective in promoting companies and products,” and added, “We are willing to recommend participation in the exhibition to other companies.”
Side events include the 2023 Next-Generation Semiconductor Packaging Equipment and Materials Innovation Strategy Conference, 2023 Korea Microelectronic Packaging Research Association/Consumer Technology Convergence Forum International Symposium, Suwon Chamber of Commerce and Industry Seminar/Technology Transaction Information Session, Technology Seminar for Participating Companies, and System Semiconductor OSAT (OSAT) ), professional training seminars, etc. were held. About 1,200 people participated in a total of 23 topics and received an enthusiastic response.
Song Eun-sil, head of the Provincial Semiconductor Industry Division, said, “We are very grateful to companies, research institutes, and academia for their interest and participation even though it is our first event.” He added, “Gyeonggi Province is pursuing the establishment of a semiconductor mega cluster and will support technology development and investment in related companies.” “We plan to actively support this,” he said.
