he Korean Sensors Society held its inaugural general meeting at the Daejeon Hotel ICC Crystal Ballroom on the 15th and elected Nam Yong-hyun, CEO of Truwin Co., Ltd. as the first president of the association. A total of 89 companies participated as founding members, including ELOHIM Inc.
Chairman Nam Yong-hyun, who also serves as the chairperson of the industry-academic cooperation of the Korean Sensors Society, said, "The establishment of the sensor association has been a long-awaited task for the domestic sensor industry. We will unfold it,” he said.
The sensor association was established with the support of the Institute of Nano Advanced Technology (President Lee Jo-won). The Nano Advanced Technology Institute explained the progress of the promotion, "Recognizing the need to form a sensor company consultative body to foster the domestic sensor industry with a global market share of around 2%, we have supported the formation of the association centering on major companies that have cooperated with the R&D center for product development." In the meantime, 13 industry-academic-research experts participated as promoters and proceeded with the name, articles of incorporation, and company recruitment.
In the future, the Sensor Association plans to carry out customized support projects along with policy proposals for fostering the domestic sensor industry and supporting companies.
Lee Jo-won, director of the Institute of Nano Science and Technology, said, “We will actively support domestic sensor companies to move beyond Death Valley to success by further strengthening the foundation and commercialization support for fostering the domestic sensor industry and creating promising companies.”
