On the 3rd, Mayor Jeong held a meeting with global pharmaceutical companies in his jurisdiction. After signing a 'business agreement for revitalizing the Technopol bio cluster' with 10 companies, including bio companies, the first investment agreement was signed with a start-up investment company.
Mayor Jeong's latest move can be interpreted as showing his strong will to make Hwaseong City, which has the largest number of manufacturers (about 27,000) in Gyeonggi-do, a good city for business and to foster unicorn companies.
First, the agreement to build a Technopol bio cluster includes ▲joint cooperation for the development of the bio industry in Hwaseong City ▲establishment of a network for the development of the bio industry ▲technical cooperation and human exchange to cultivate professional manpower ▲creation of a virtuous cycle ecosystem for research and development.
Through this agreement, Mayor Jeong plans to expand and build a Hwaseong-type technopole bio cluster linked with industry, academia, research institutes, and hospitals in the future, and to continue cooperation to foster talent in the bio field and strengthen industrial competitiveness.
Hwaseong City is currently pursuing a project to create a technopole where high-tech industries are integrated. It was evaluated that this agreement brings Hwaseong City one step closer to creating a bio cluster and provides an opportunity for the city to grow into a leading city in the bio industry.
